Erin Dryden, LCSW
Licensed Clinical Social Worker & Psychotherapist
Offering in-person sessions in South Austin & telehealth throughout Texas
I work with thoughtful adults who are grieving, navigating a big change, or wanting more out of life. This feeling often shows up as anxiety, depression, trouble connecting with others, or maybe just feeling stuck and unsure what the hell to do next.
I especially love working with people who are burned out from taking care of everyone else or holding themselves to extremely high standards.
How we’ll work together
I’m an insight-oriented and collaborative therapist, and I believe the relationship we build together is what makes therapy a transformative space. I aim to be warm, honest, and curious about who you are and what matters most to you, and I value humor and often bring it into the room.
Together, we’ll talk through your current struggles, discuss how past attachments and experiences may be shaping how you move through the world, and discover new ways to move forward, including some tools for the really hard phases.
What shapes my work
My approach draws on attachment theory, psychodynamic and family systems theories, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (learning to make room for hard feelings while moving toward what matters), mindfulness, and dialectical thinking (the idea of holding multiple things at once).
I have clinical experience leading intensive outpatient groups and working on an outpatient DBT team, which focuses on building skills for intense emotions. I’ve also supported people and families through end-of-life care in hospice, which has taught me there’s no one-size-fits-all model of grief. Instead, we make room for it and figure out how to carry it. This experience has helped me learn to walk beside people and provide support during life’s toughest moments.
I stay grounded through my own therapy, regular group consultation, and ongoing clinical training.
